Dear Pennsylvania Lawmakers,
As small business owners and entrepreneurs, we represent a critical piece of Pennsylvania's economy. Collectively, small businesses make up 99.6% of Pennsylvania businesses and employ 46.2% of Pennsylvania employees, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.
We write to you because, increasingly, healthcare costs are hurting our businesses and our potential to grow. In fact, a recent survey conducted by Small Business for America's Future found that:
One in every five dollars of U.S. healthcare spending is on drugs, making drug prices a key driver of high healthcare costs. Americans pay three times more for the same drugs as people in other countries, and prices have continued to rise significantly each year, putting pressure on small businesses when healthcare costs go up.
Small businesses need relief from out-of-control drug prices. We are asking Pennsylvania lawmakers to take swift action to lower prescription drug prices. This will both provide relief to the 1 in 2 Pennsylvanians worried about the cost of the medications and help support small businesses by driving down healthcare costs overall.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Thank you for Signing On!
